Deposit Analysis

Used to determine the elemental composition of a given condenser and/or heat exchanger tube deposit. After the deposit has been filtered and then dried, loss-on-ignition (LOI) testing is performed and a representative portion is analyzed. A report is provided.

Deposit Density

Full-length tube deposit samples are taken by shooting tube cleaners through selected tubes and collecting the deposits. These samples are filtered and dried in an oven, then weighed to determine deposit weight in grams. Deposit weight and deposit density is determined. Loss-on-ignition (LOI) is performed. A report is provided.

  Tube Cleaning Condition Assessment

Tube cleaning and/or tube condition assessments are available to help you determine the best and most suitable Conco tube cleaner for your site specific conditions. Tube samples are cleaned and the deposit removal and cleaning efficacy of the selected Conco tube cleaning products are reported and cleaning recommendations are made.

Heat Transfer Testing

Used to test heat transfer coefficients oncondenser and heat exchanger tubes, the Conco Heat Transfer Testing Unit is a model recirculating system employing a Conco Mini Condenser, recirculating pump, recirculation tank and cooling tower. Applications include determining the thermal impedance of deposits as well as confirming design heat transfer coefficients, determinations regarding the relative effectiveness of mechanical cleaning can also be made. Heat transfer coefficients are reported in ASME and HEI values.

Condenser Performance Evaluation

This service incorporates exclusive software developedby Conco for calculating the performance of condensers having one, two or three compartments at fossil or nuclear generating stations. Fuel savings and Return on Investment (ROI) analysis for cleaning projects are calculated. Conco engineers calculate the amount of power which should be generated if the condenser were to be cleaned, the amount of generation lost due to fouling, as well as exposing other areas where performance deficiencies may occur. A report of the results is generated.

Tube Failure Analysis

Determines tube surface abnormalities, including tubefailure in condensers and heat exchangers. A tube is pulled from a condenser/heat exchanger, sectioned and subjected to various metallurgical examinations.A report is provided.
