We Have a Cleaner for That™

TruFit Tube Cleaners

With over a dozen different designs of condenser and heat exchanger tube cleaners on the market today, no one offers more choices for removing more types of condenser and heat exchanger fouling than Conco.  Conco's patented TruFit™ technology is built into each of our cleaners ensuring effective cleaning.  Features such as fouling-specific architecture, spring-loaded blades, no-sharp edges, and TruFit™ sizing to match your exact tube dimensions are just a few of the things that make Conco tube cleaners "absolutely the best" in the business.  For more information on our full line of condenser and heat exchanger cleaning products, visit our website or contact us directly at 1.800.345.3476.

Condenser Cleaning Leads the Pack in ROI for Power Plant Maintenance
ROI ChartPower plant engineers responsible for the main surface condenser at their site are faced with many scenarios regarding the age and condition of the unit when they first assume responsibility for it.  The condenser may only be a few years into its life cycle, or could be a few years from needing to be replaced or retubed.  The point is, no matter where your unit is in its life cycle, timely and effective cleaning and testing of the condenser has proven to provide one of the largest returns on investment for power plant maintenance budgets when compared to projects costing four to five times as much.  When considering the multiple benefits of a condenser cleaning, one can expect immediate improvements in overall plant heat rate, condenser heat transfer coefficients, reduced CO2 and NOX emissions, reduced house load and recovery of lost megawatts, just to name a few.

Recently, the spotlight on how effective cleaning can eliminate or dramatically reduce a plant's risk of forced outage due to a tube leak has been the topic of discussion at many condenser related seminars and conferences.  Conco had the true privilege of presenting several technical papers to both ASME Power and EPRI on the matter, and also created a unique workshop for plant engineers to attend called the "Total Condenser Performance™" workshop, which educates and enlightens engineers on how to get the most performance, reliability and availability from their condenser.

With record power production taking place last summer, spot shortages, and high selling prices, a one day summer outage to plug leaking tubes could significantly impact a company's bottom line.  Allowing a unit to operate a day or two with the leaking tubes could result in damages exceeding over a million dollars.  Additionally, lost megawatts due to exchanger and turbine inefficiency add a comparable amount of losses making the issue a top concern among plant chemists (and stakeholders).
Conco Wins Team Safety Challenge During Outage at EDF Plant

EDF Safety Award

Conco was pleased to win not once, but twice, the team safety challenge during their recent outage at EDF Bouchain power plant located in Northern France.  Conco's safety director Jackie Kuntz says "Conco's commitment to safety extends across all borders and around the world; we're delighted to be recognized for our performance at EDF Bouchain"

2012 Condenser Life Cycle Seminar
Condenser Seminar LogoConco is pleased to take part in the 2012 Condenser Life Cycle Seminar on February 13-15, 2012 in San Antonio, Texas.  The event hosted at the Palacio del Rio Hotel is situated conveniently on the beautiful river walk and promises to be an excellent retreat for those coming in from colder climates.  If you haven't yet registered for this event, seats are still available for power plant registrants.  Visit the seminar website for more information on this "don't miss condenser event for 2012."
